Announcing a New Photo Shoot for Late June
I can’t wait to show you shots from this project I just set up.
It will be a TFP (time for print) shoot with 2-5 models. It will also be at the SASCO Mine site. Planning for being there near evening, then shooting through sunset and into the evening shooting some lowlight, no-light, and light-painting shots.

I love the SASCO Mine site. It’s dangerous, but exciting. The graffiti makes it look like a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
This shot with Jane is one of my favorites from the last shoot at that location from the SASCO Hotel ruins which are a short distance from the smelter ruins.
I nearly always use strobes and flashes now. This one had us out in the Arizona sun around 10:30-11:00. I don’t usually shoot past 10am in this heat. I also usually won’t shoot until after 5:00pm. I don’t do well in sun with my northern skin.

I’m still planning the shoot out – I’ll have to transition from shooting day, to sunset, to night (dark). I’m hoping for some really great stuff from all this. I’m hoping for fewer models because, otherwise, I’ll need to shoot a lot of group stuff which means very few photos, but lots of variations on basic themes – shooting and reshooting the same group pose until it all works out just so.
Then again, maybe I need to rethink the way I’m going to shoot a pro shoot with a group of ladies I may never have worked before.
I’m pretty jazzed for the big smelter again. It’s been a while since I’ve been out there and the last time I didn’t get a lot of shots I was really hoping for.

This time, I’m getting so many more shots I didn’t think I’d ever get to get.
I’m really looking forward to working with this group of models. It’s going to be exciting. I hope.
So, I want to get some awesome photos by the myriad of graffiti-laden walls (photos below).
