Little Plans: Modeling and a NEW TFP

Little Plans: Modeling and a NEW TFP

Two aspects of my business revolve around modeling and TFP. If you’re not familiar, TFP is a photographer/model term used to describe a sort of “trade” agreement in which the model and photographer both agree to trade for equivalent services. It’s a trust matter. Sometimes the photographer doesn’t deliver and sometimes the model doesn’t deliver.

I want to offer a better TFP.

Because I want a better TFP, I want to know your experiences with TFP. Whether you’re a photographer, videographer, musician, model, actor/actress, or a complete newbie (or seasoned pro), I want to know your experiences and stories.

Good, bad, ugly? Let me know. It remains private. I can take it.

Interested? Click here for more info and to submit the survey.

Everything will be kept completely confidential: I’m using this to build a new type of TFP plan. One with choices and real benefits for a modern, electronic, social media world.

So, please fill out this short survey. I strongly encourage your elaboration. The devil, as they say, is in the details. I want your stories, good, bad, or indifferent.

What’s Up (May 2018)

Big Plans

I started working on a new plan for Techno Obscura. I’ve been working on it for months, actually. Little pieces turned into bigger and bigger efforts requiring more and more research. I’m finally getting to implementing it now.

What is it? I’m tired of being spread out. I have a website, all my stock media sites, various social media sites, a few portfolio sites, and I still don’t have time to keep them all updated while also helping my wife with her business. I’m just worn too thin to be effective anymore. What’s the fix?

First, the website is in dire need of work. I haven’t updated it in ages and its costing me business and making more trouble than its worth. To be fair, I’ve been working very hard with my wife to ensure the long-term success of WeeGonza Bazaar. Mostly photo and video work as well as a lot of art and making some awesome new products for her. After Phoenix Comic Fest, in only a couple weeks, I will begin working on my website and new content full time. I will still be working with my wife, but I’ll be taking more of an advisory role while we basically trim the fat and focus exclusively on our web “experience.”

Cthulhu Librarian’s Discovery Announcement

Announcing the latest, Lovecraft/Cthulhu inspired Photo Painting

The Librarian's Discovery
Librarian finds a great old one populating her library

Immediately off the holidays, I have been getting more and more requests to see my artwork. I suppose my work on putting this site together has been taking a bit longer than it should. So, without further pomp and circumstance, I introduce a new print entitled, “The Librarian’s Discovery.”

This piece really drives home my love for both photography, digital painting and the Cthulhu Mythos. I remember reading these stories when I was in High School. They didn’t really scare me, but they were invigorating nonetheless. When I first sketched this composition out on paper, I had no idea it would turn into this. I love the “underdog” status she has, her cute smile and the fact that she shot first. Take that! No madness here. No gibbering mess. She is a librarian with amazing super powers and a refusal to succumb to madness.

The model is professional, freelance, traveling model, Charlie Kristine with whom I worked a few years back for some experimental photography. It is from those shots I found the image of her in a running pose.

The Cthulhu model is actually a reworked photo of a large Cthulhu figure used for some type of Hero Clix game. I haven’t actually played the game. I imagine the Cthulhu figure was righteously expensive. Which is neither here nor there, but the idea about the figure used with a real model in an image was intriguing. I wound up adding more tentacles, altered the eyes, and enhanced the look of him. Also added the bullet blast spray in bright green.

Print sizes vary a lot. Existing prices and sizes reflect the image filling the edges of the print as close as possible, leaving a 1/4″ border to allow for matting and framing. Additional sizes are available. Please ask me if you want a different size.

Cute Vampire Girl Quick Post

Little Vampire Girl
A Little Vampire Girl at night in pink and ready for a night of devouring humans.

Just put this one up on my store. You can see it here.

She is one of my new Photoshop paintings from some set test photos from 2014 for some stock video I shot with a Halloween/Vampire theme.

We used some fake fangs – the cool ones that go on each tooth.

The moon (showing the ISS in transition) and night sky star photos are from NASA.

Total time spent: about 6-7 hours over 2 days.
